Founded in March 1999 in Berlin on the initiative of companies and scientists, the IEB is a unique educational reference project and the first institute affiliated to the Universität der Künste Berlin [Berlin University of the Arts] (UdK). The Institute is characterized by integrated research and university education without government assistance, but supported by benefits-related partners in a public-private-partnership model for the economy.
The aim of the Institute is to explore the mechanisms of the new global electronic market early on, to analyze the effects on management, marketing and corporate organizations and to train highly-qualified personnel for all areas of Electronic Business in an internationally orientated program of study "Electronic Business". Based on this concept, the E12-Summit has proven to be a valuable indicator for the economic spirit. It succesfully connects methodical and practice-oriented market research with the business networking thought. In addition, the IEB offers a wide variety of networking possibilities throughout the whole year and can be used frequently as a major business platform.
Applied research projects, analyses for companies searching for solutions in the planning of their Electronic Business, and independent expert opinions round off the service package of the Institute of Electronic Business, making it an innovative hub between science, producers and users in the metropolis Berlin.
