Pironet NDH operates local networks for SMBs according to the on-demand model
Cologne, 31 July 2009 – Pironet NDH is expanding its holistic ICT outsourcing portfolio by services for local data networks. With the new product line “Managed LAN Services” the ICT service provider will take over operation and overall responsibility for all active network components such as routers and switches in its customers’ companies and branches. Business customers who also use their applications in a Software as a Service mode and operate their corporate network by Pironet NDH are thus provided with holistic quality guarantees for their entire ICT environment.
“As for all other services, customers of Pironet NDH only pay for Managed LAN to the extent they need and use it, in this case for each network port used per month,” explains Udo Faulhaber, Sales Director of Pironet NDH. “Furthermore, we can guarantee the high performance parameters of the business applications we provide by SLA through to the end user in the customer’s company. This is something new in medium-sized enterprises.”
ITIL-compliant LAN administration
With Managed LAN, Pironet NDH migrates a company’s existing network infrastructure into its own operations, optimises the technologies and processes used or, if requested by the customer, also implements a totally new network. In the context of Managed LAN Services, Pironet NDH also takes into account future requirements for the LAN, such as migration to Voice over IP or the introduction of Unified Communications.
After network management has been transferred, experts from Pironet NDH monitor the customer LAN round the clock, 365 days a year, and thus guarantee high availability, high performance and quick reaction times. ITIL-compliant service processes ensure the consistently high quality of all procedures.
Transparent and customised costs
“Thanks to Managed LAN, companies are now no longer forced to make expensive infrastructure investments for their corporate network and to have costly expert knowledge constantly on hand to cope with any incidents which may occur,” adds Udo Faulhaber. “Instead, they reduce their cost structures and make them more flexible, and they can focus their IT team on projects which create value.”
